Spa pricing in Houston varies more by format than by neighborhood. Here is what to expect before you book, so the final bill is not a surprise.

Massage

A 60-minute Swedish or deep-tissue massage runs about $90 to $140 at an independent studio, and $130 to $210 at a hotel or high-end day spa. Ninety-minute sessions are usually 40 percent more rather than double. Independent studios in The Heights and Montrose offer the best value per hour.

Facials

A classic facial sits between $85 and $160. Results-focused treatments - peels, microneedling, LED - start around $150 and climb quickly. Med spas often quote per session and sell packages of three, which is where costs get serious.

Day spa packages

Half-day packages with a massage, facial and lounge or steam access typically land between $250 and $450, depending on the neighborhood. The Woodlands and River Oaks sit at the top of that range.

Korean spa days

The outlier. A full-body scrub plus all-day access to baths, saunas and lounges usually costs less than a single 60-minute massage anywhere else in the city. Food and extra services at the cafe are separate and inexpensive.

Where the bill grows

• Add-ons: hot stones, aromatherapy blends, scalp treatments and paraffin are $20 to $50 each.
• Gratuity: 15 to 20 percent, usually added at checkout.
• Parking: free at suburban spas, validated or valet in Downtown and Uptown.
• Cancellation fees: 50 to 100 percent inside 24 hours.
